Grimes at Forbidden Fruit

I thought I would upload the live shots from Grimes in a separate post, well, because she was the talk of the town and people are very interested in the lady. And why not, she knows how to put on a bloody good show. She is due back for Electric Picnic I am told, one to watch for sure.

Forbidden Fruit 2012 – Live – Saturday

The first day of the 2012 edition of the Dublin festival. Very dance / electro orientated I must say, so not the most opportune circumstances for live shots, a lot of Apple Mac Books were photographed! Still, it provided a challenge and that’s always a very good thing in this game. Acts included Bear In Heaven, Bloody Beetroots, Booka Shade, Factory Floor, Friendly Fires, Holy Fuck, Horse Meat Disco, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Le Galaxie, Leftfield, Mmoths, Paddy Cullivan, Reid, Republic Of Loose, Stay +, The Field and Toby Kaar.

The Music Show 2012, Saturday

Day one of the Hot Press presented music exhibition, The Music Show, which took place at the RDS, Dublin on the 25th and 26th of February 2012. It was a great weekend, with lots to see and do. So in no particular order, from the saturday, we have The Cast Of Cheers, ASIWYFA, Bressie, the Minutes, Shadowplay, Aslan, The Minutes, Chris Slade (ex AC/DC) and Jerry Fish.

Electric Picnic 2010

It’s giant gallery time. I had the urge to take lots of shots last year, hence the volume was up. Some years I was stationed in the Hot Press Chat Room, which explains why it seems like I was a slacker! Only remembered now, but last EP I was hammer and tongs out taking live shots. Very enjoyable it was too, and looking forward to this years installment. See you all there!

Bands I covered were Adrian Crowley, Archie Bronson Outfit, Bad Lieutenant, Brendan Perry. Dandelion, Fat Freddys Drop, Fever Ray, Gil Scott Heron, Heathers, Hot Chip, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Janelle Monae, Joe Echo, K Naan, Leftfield, Massive Attack, Modest Mouse, Mumford And Sons, New Pornographers, Public Image Limited, Seasick Steve, Stars, Steve Earle, Stornoway, The Alarm, the Fall, the Frames, The Waterboys, UNKLE and Wolf Parade.
