My first time to snap the Chilis live, and was expecting a bit of a challenge… And I got one, the stage was so high I couldn’t actually physically see the drummer Chad Smith. Not often that happens! I used a 400mm lens to get close, and rocked the Canon 550D crop frame camera. I am glad I had it, especially with the elevated stage. The light was great and being a big outdoor spectacular, there was follow spots aplenty, which means the principal band members are always well lit, unless the operators can’t keep up with the action.
